Gregor Kregar - World Cup sheep

 

Coinciding with the 2011 Rugby World Cup, the art gallery Michael Reid at Elizabeth Bay will host an installation of the 12 nations as porcelain, jersey-clad woollies. A sheep will be available in four different sizes, wearing a coloured World Cup participating jersey.
 
Gregor Kregar, an international sculpture and installation artist from Slovenian / New Zealand draws on earlier explorations of sheep in his work as a symbol of national identity.
